Chromebook Management: User field is now automatically populated

As I mentioned in my previous post, automatic population of the username when enrolling Chromebooks is here (back for some of us). This is great news.


The user field in device details is now automatically populated with the username that first enrolled the device to the domain. The field can be edited after auto-population. Read the blog post.

Unfortunately, it only works on brand new devices--the first user to ever enroll the device. A long time ago I believe if you erased the user in the admin console and then enrolled it again, it would populate with that username but I just tried it and that's not how it works.
