Chromebook Console: New "Enrollment Date" column

I'm not sure when this was added but I just realized there is now a column labeled "Enrollment Date" under Devices. It also shows, as expected, in the device's record when looking at it's details.

This is great news and I hope it will be a sign of things to come. On my Wish List, I have "Information on when the device was first enrolled, unenrolled, user logs, etc." This is a step closer to that wish.

Here's what I found
  • After enrolling a device it lists the date and time.
  • If you were to wipe the machine it will still have that date (before re-enrolling again).
  • If you restore the machine (via USB stick) it will still show that date (before re-enrolling again).
  • If you wipe or restore it and then re-enroll it, it will display the latest enrollment date.
I really wish there was a "Is device currently enrolled" column where it says Yes or No and then have that enrollment date as supplemental information in the device record but I suppose this is better than nothing. I really hope they keep adding in more of this type of information/logging.

  1. It turns out that enrollment date is not as important as enrollment VERSION of the OS -- witness that if you want to take advantage of pushing cloud printers with policy per OU, you need to enroll after version 29. :-/

And there's no way I know of to report what version a given machine was enrolled under.

    Which is weird.

    Argh.

    1. Wait ..what?

"witness that if you want to take advantage of pushing cloud printers with policy per OU, you need to enroll after version 29. :-/ "

Are you serious? So you have to ENROLL after 29? You can simply upgrade to it?
